T&C Construction Ltd carried out all in-situ concrete works on this high profile project for Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd. When fully operational the plant will convert food / organic waste into electricity which is transferred directly into the national grid.
Works involved construction of large in-situ structures including gas tank bases (each requiring approximately 350m3 of concrete) and other plinths. A large hopper pit was constructed which will be where the waste is deposited. The base of this structure is 5 metres below ground level. The base was poured in one continuous pour and required 400m3 of concrete. The structure involved 850m3 of concrete and 200t of reinforcement.
T&C also carried out installation of pile caps and ground beams, ground & first floor in-situ slabs, drainage works and a perimeter wall.
